Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the services of ALK Property Services ("we", "us", or "our"). By requesting a quote, booking a service, or using our website, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
1. Services
ALK Property Services provides residential and light commercial property services in Calgary, Alberta and the surrounding areas, including but not limited to:
- General home repairs (doors, fixtures, caulking, hardware, leaks, and more)
- Junk removal and property cleanouts
- Gutter cleaning and minor gutter repairs
- Fencing installation and repair
- Flooring installation
- Interior painting and finishing
We reserve the right to decline any project at our discretion, including work outside our expertise or service area.
2. Service Area
Our primary service area includes Calgary, Airdrie, Cochrane, Okotoks, and Chestermere. Travel fees may apply for locations outside this area. Please contact us to confirm availability for your location before booking.
3. Estimates and Quotes
All estimates are provided free of charge and are based on the information available at the time of assessment. Estimates are not binding contracts. Final pricing may differ from an initial estimate if:
- The scope of work changes after the estimate is given.
- Hidden conditions are discovered during work (e.g., water damage, structural issues, mold).
- Material costs change prior to project commencement.
Any significant changes to scope or cost will be communicated to you before proceeding.
4. Booking and Scheduling
Service appointments are confirmed verbally or in writing. We make every effort to arrive on time and complete work within the agreed timeframe. Scheduling is subject to availability and may be affected by weather, prior project delays, or other unforeseen circumstances. We will notify you as soon as possible if a scheduled appointment needs to be changed.
5. Customer Responsibilities
To ensure work can be completed safely and efficiently, you agree to:
- Provide safe and clear access to the work area.
- Remove or secure personal belongings, valuables, and pets from the work area prior to our arrival.
- Inform us of any known hazards, including asbestos, lead paint, mold, or structural concerns.
- Ensure an authorized adult (18+) is present or reachable during the service.
6. Payment
Payment terms will be agreed upon prior to the start of work. Unless otherwise arranged:
- Full payment is due upon completion of the work.
- For larger projects, a deposit may be required before work begins.
- Accepted payment methods will be confirmed at time of booking.
Overdue invoices may be subject to collection procedures.
7. Cancellations
We understand that plans change. We ask that you provide at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a confirmed appointment. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice may result in a cancellation fee to cover costs already incurred.
8. Workmanship Guarantee
We stand behind the quality of our work. If you are not satisfied with any aspect of our service, please contact us within 7 days of project completion and we will return to assess and address the concern at no additional charge, provided the issue is related to our workmanship and not due to pre-existing conditions, customer modifications, or normal wear.
This guarantee does not apply to materials supplied by the customer or damage caused after our work is completed.
9. Limitation of Liability
ALK Property Services will take reasonable care to protect your property. However, our liability for any damage caused during service is limited to the direct cost of repairing or replacing the affected item, up to the value of the work performed under the applicable job.
We are not liable for:
- Pre-existing damage or defects not disclosed prior to work.
- Damage resulting from hidden hazards (e.g., concealed plumbing, wiring, or structural issues).
- Indirect, consequential, or incidental losses.
10. Insurance
ALK Property Services carries liability insurance appropriate for the services we provide. Proof of insurance is available upon request.
11. Intellectual Property
All content on our website — including text, images, logos, and design — is owned by or licensed to ALK Property Services. You may not reproduce or use any content without our written permission.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the applicable federal laws of Canada. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Alberta.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Your continued use of our services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
